Today Was Carboy Day

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Yeah I have been sleepin' pretty rough lately… maybe I just have lots on my mind. Anyways, I almost forgot about the batch of beer in the basement tonight. So I was driftin' off to sleep when I finally remembered and this is what I went downstairs to produce:

Here it is!

I'll keep an eye on the lock and see when it slows down significantly, then it'll be 3/4 cup sugar, and into the bottles she goes. I may as well throw out an estimate of May 13th right now, but that's just 'cause I like the number 13.

Old Notes…

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Today I found some notes that I had taken down on some previous batches of beer. One of the things in the notes is that stubbies are a pain in the ass to cap. Now I am dreading the capping process because about half my bottles are going to be stubbies and a good chunk of the remainder are Corona bottles.

Back At The Beer Eh

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Well… tonight I decided to brew up a batch of beer. I haven't made any beer in a couple of years but being a cheap bastard I thought it might be a good idea. I am using Morgan's Canadian Pilsner that I got at Defalco's, and I am mildly worried about the equipment being well sterilized after having sat around in the basement for so long. Funny how I decided on an Australian maker of a Canadian beer eh? Well, we will see how it turns out. Tonight I "pailed" it and that means Monday May 3rd will be a good time for carboy day.
